Horrible experience with ICICI bank’s customer care people who handled my credit card. After submitting my application and completing my video KYC, someone showed at my doorstep stating that he is doing background verification. When I asked him for his ID card, he started saying that his mobile broke or something. Nonone from ICICI bank bothered to inform me that a background verification will be done and a person will come to my house to verify everything. Once that got completed, I got a message from the bank, 2 days after the verification that my application is rejected and that I should re-apply after 6 months.


1 week after the rejection message, I get an email on my office email address to confirm my identity. I wrote a stern email to them and never got a reply. 10 days after the rejection message I receive an approval message stating that my credit card has been approved. Same day morning a customer care executive named Aditya calls me says that I need to verify my office email address. The reason for rejecting my credit card was that they could not verify my office address.


When I asked him if I had given an incorrect office address, he said that no it wasnt my fault. Their underwriting team was unable to verify it. Since it was not my fault, I requested him to cancel my credit card. He immediately cut the call without even apologising once.


Please avoid taking ICICI credit card guys. They are rude, unsystematic and highly unprofessional people.
