Poorest service on the “INDIA’s FINEST” airlines

I traveled Jet airways with my family on the route Patna-Delhi-Dubai-Delhi-Patna on PNR FEEAVO, NLIIWK and EIVKWD on 10/04/2010, 14/04/2010 and 15/04/2010. Let me brief you the poorest service which I was served on the “INDIA’s FINEST” airlines:-


Patna Ground Check-in:- I was booked on a flight 9W and that was cancelled on the same day morning. I was given accommodation on S2 flight which I regret I have to take because I was having no choice as I was missing a connection. I went to the airport early in the morning, had a word with Duty manager Mr. Shekhar, who assure he will confirm by 12:30 for accommodating me ion IC. But he refused when I called him later and I have to travel on S2. Even the S2 flight was delayed and we have to wait at airport for approx 2 hours more than the informed time. I was told on check-in counter that my luggage is through check in and I need not pick it up in Delhi. When I book 9W flight, should I travel by S2?


Patna-Delhi :- The flight service including the crew was very rude and unwelcoming as expected on a S2 flight.


Delhi arrival:- We accidentally asked the staff at the arrival that should we pick up the bags and we were told yes pick it up and carry all the way to international terminal. It was really ridiculous and if we would not have asked the arrival staff (as we were assured the same on check in Patna that it will be internally transferred). The arrival staff also informed us in the way as if he is doing a great favor to me by informing regarding the same. The transfer from domestic to international was too slow and we were really un-comfortable. Airport check in counter (International Delhi) :- A man checking the passport at the check in counter who addressed my family members as “Tumhara passport hua check?” as if he himself is the officer in charge for the whole Indian government. I really appreciate my Government employees who were really very soft spoken, clean hearted and helped making a fast immigration, I really feel proud of the country but these private airlines after they sell the ticket there nature changes dramatically.


Delhi-Dubai flight :- We boarded the flight after a rude check-in at the airport check in counter. We took our respective seats and found that the entertainment screen installed was faulty and I was not getting sound. For the first 2 hours I complained the crew members more than six times about its not working. After so may times of complaining, one of them said to other “Chood na yaar, reset kara de”. Awesome reply for a travelling party. One of this crew member name was Kamini and other’s name I don’t remember. Now, still when it was not working I called for the flight manager, Mr. Amit came in response and then solved the issue. I asked for the complain book but the same was not produced on the plea that the same is not available on flight. I was just provided a leaflet for feedback, which I felt no use of filling in. Mr. Amit promised to report all these incidences in the flight log report. I was assured while booking the flight that the flight is installed with entertainment systems.


Dubai-Delhi flight:- This time the entertainment screen was working. At the time when I have to use toilet I went to the back side of the plane and found that one toilet was locked and other was working with a long que, I tried using the toilet on the front end but I was refused to allow me to use it as that was only for first class passengers. I went back again, there whole of the crew was busy chit-chatting at the end of the plane and was least bothered to check the other locked toilet. Not only me, but many of the passengers were facing the same issue. The economy class have 16*6=96 people and 1 toilet for them in a 3:45 HRS flight. Isn’t the combination deadly? Thank God I dint need to use the toilet on Delhi-Dubai route. And a SURPIRSE for you, When we arrived the Delhi Airport the announcement was made “Chatrapati hawai adde par aapka swagat hain.” Isn’t is amazing? Anyways he corrected the same to Indira Gandhi International airport when he announced the same in English.


Delhi Domestic Check in:- I was booked on PNR EIVKWD. This time I was again booked on a 9W and it was again cancelled which I got to know when I called airlines for the timing of the flight. Airlines didn’t even care for providing the information to the customer when they cancel the flight and ah! Be assured my mobile number was with them as I asked them about it when I called and they told the same number. They again offered me the same S2 flight, but after fighting a lot to the customer care people they booked me on night 9W flight, but the story doesn’t end and continues.


Delhi-Patna flight (15th April 2010) :- I arrived airport 1 hr 15 mins prior to departure, now I have to go to ticketing counter to get the ticket endorsed for the another flight. I went inside the ticketing counter area and it was not crowded but somehow they kept me waiting for 45 mins to just give a simple print out, at last I told the girl that you should do it fast as she was busy with the other girl beside her assisting her. She shouted on me in reply, this was again a amazing response. I told her I will make a complain about you, and she was like yes sure. Then I went on the other side as I was fearing to miss the flight and told one of the gentleman inside, he helped me out and got the print out in a minute. Finally we went inside the airport to know that the flight was overbooked but after again fighting a lot we got two separate seats on the flight and both of them were middle. Amazing again! Somehow we arrived Patna and went to home.


Customer Care call on 20th April 2010 from number 02240191000 for the Delhi-Dubai logged complain:- This is something which you will really APPRECIATE of the airlines. I was telling him the complain and told him I can go to consumer court and will not travel Jet airways anymore. He was happy to tell me “I appreciate your going to Consumer court and having choices to travel”. Now what else I would have said.


Now sir, after wasting my further half an hour in telling you about the issues on the airlines. I would like to know for what did I pay you more than a LCC while travelling jet Airways.


I paid them Rs. 79000 for whole of my tickets to be treated like this? I am really amazed and WILL APPRECIATE myself of not making any relations with Jet airways or its any sister concerns in future.
