Tujhe Dekh Dekh Sona...

Reality is full of imperfections. An imperfect world has a lot of injuries. And amidst the stinging pain, I feel the tender touch of a fair-skinned, blue-eyed, soft-looking Afghani girl trying to heal my injuries. Come on! That’s too perfect to be called reality! Yah! I come out of my dream to realize myself listening to the first track of ‘KALYUG’.

There are some songs which I cherish eternally. ‘Tujhe dekh dekh sona’ joins that list. The subtle tune simply oozes out the emotion of love during a painful loneliness. It’s like no one loves you in this world, except her. Brilliantly composed by Rohail Hyat and Faisal Rafi and soulfully sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, this song has lyrics by Asim Raza.

The next track is sure to have some star value attached to it. If you heard ‘Woh lamhe’ from Zeher, you can never forget the magical voice that sang it. Yah! It’s Atif. In this album, the second song ‘Aadat’ speaks of the person (in the situation) getting used living without his beloved. Though the composition wasn’t as exciting as ‘Woh lamhe’, Atif’s voice does the magic for this song.

The remix version of this song is rocking enough to be called a party number (remixed by DJ Suketu). Composed by Goher Mumtaz, this number has wonderful lines like: juda hoke bhi, tu mujhme kahin baaki hai….

Alisha Chenai keeps her seductive voice fresh like in ‘Dil ko hazaar baar’ from Murder. In ‘Dheere Dheere’, she tries to lift the song with her expression-of-voice and she does succeed despite Anu Malik’s mediocre composition. Sayeed Quadri’s lyrics are just passable.

‘Thi Meri Daastaan’ in its first few lines goes on similar tunes of ‘Jiye tho jiye kaise’ from Saajan. But the similarity ends a those few lines. AnuMalik and Sayeed Quadri make successful attempt to create a beautiful and entertaining melody.

There is a golden beauty in Anuradha Paudwal’s voice. But what sounds more brilliant is Indian Idol finalist Amit Sana’s debut. He was simply amazing in his expression and young voice.

There is one to-be-skipped track in this album and it is ‘Ye Pal’, which tries to be a fast-paced number but ends up being more of an uninteresting one.

The cover details:

This album is worth a buy, especially for beautiful tracks like ‘tujhe dekh dekh sona’ and ‘aadat’.
