Last Saturday on 8th of November 2007 me and my wife we have been to Jayanagar(Bangalore’s prime locality) while coming my wife asked me to stop near Kamat Hotel near Lal Bagh, R.V Road, V.V Puram Bangalore so that we can have Snacks and Tea. I stopped my vehicle and we entered Kamat Hotel to have some cup of tea.
I know Kamat Hotel since my child hood because I grown up in Northern Part of Karnataka they have got Hotels in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gulbarga, Haveri, and Hubli-Dharwad. Wherever I go I visited Kamat be it is Hyderabad or Goa I always had snacks their. Even they have got hotel in Goa and Gadag too. They are one of the trusted hotels in South India and also they have got good transport company too. We prefer Kamat Tourist for going to Dharwad and service till now was good and excellent. But my trust on their hotels vanished when I had snacks in their V.VPuram branch hotel which is located near Lal Bagh.
When we entered we ordered 1 cup of tea (one-by-two) and my wife ordered Aloo Vada and it was really hot and crisp and good. After having Vada waiter bought 1 cup of tea with 1 cup extra. To my surprise the cup was little bit broken at upside and I ignored it and had tea . And later I paid the bill and at counter I saw the Mixture (Pharsan or Khara Sev or Chewda whatever you call) and I thought buying it. Earlier I am planning to buy it near my home but since Kamat is trusted hotel I thought of buying it. The counter person asked one person to give us the pharsan and the person who was wearing black trousers with white shirt he was around 55 years of age he was one of the manager I that hotel came near the mixture bottle FIRST TOOK HIS RIGHT FINGER AND TOUCHED TO HIS TONGUE MOUTH AND AGAIN PICKED THE SMALL PLASTIC BAG (while counting notes normally people first touch the finger to tongue or mouth and start counting the notes for correct grip) I AM KEENLY OBSERVING THIS AND HE DID AT LEAST FOR 3 TO 4 TIMES AND AGAIN HE DID THE SAME AND AGAIN WITH THE SAME HAND AND SAME FINGER TOOK THE MIXTURE IN HIS RIGHT HANDS AND PUT IT IN WEIGHT TO MATCH THE 100 GMS. I am really stunned at this and I did’nt express any thing at that time as I have got other tension and at the same time I was in a hurry. The whole night I was not at all happy with myself as I did’nt reacted to that situation. I usually react immediately but I am surprised I did’nt react. And I did’nt had that mixture.
So my friends please don’t buy anything from Kamat Hotel. That guy did in front of me so who knows Quality is really question mark for Kamat. Finally I say one word and finish this review
