I was very scared when I read the reviews on MS, I went to the theater prepared to be shocked by an actor imitating Shahruk Khan, a fat Vidya Balan and a director that had lost his touch...Fortunately, it was a very nice surprise for me, I would rather say that its one of the best movies this year...It has the same cozy feelings and touchy moments of Yes Boss...but this time with fresh faces and wonderful performances...
Raj an ambitious architect, familiar to success in university has a great pressure on him...every body says that he will succeed but life didnt give him presents...hes like every young graduate who wants to prove him self to the entire world and like every young man hes confronted to bad luck, vicious colleagues and a heartless world of business...something is missing in his life.
His spiritual council (Juhi) called it lucky charm...but what he realy wants is someone to push him further toward hard work and moral positions, someone who can shear with him moment of success and moments of sadness: Prya (Vidya) shes the answer, what a girl! what a smile! what a simplicity shes sweet and cool, very engaged and when she loves someone she can go with him to hell without thinking...Raj took time to understand this but once he did he rediscovers him self and he will show all the business magnets that theres always a place for moral values in a land of capitalism...watch the movie to know more !!
I loved the story, It was very simple, even the fantastic touch of lucky charm thing was very believable to me, all the problems that can face young men in their professional lives are handelt with elegance, the moral dilemmas and how to confront them...it was very touching.
The performances were an other plus point, Shahid is not Shahruk , lets make it clear, maybe their was some scenes where we recognize Shahruk but its Aziz touch not a try to imitate Shahruk by Shahid. He was very fresh, very believable in his role of an architect straggling with daily professional complications and the pressure of universitys mates expectations...good Job. Coming to Vidya...what can I say...God bless her... shes wonderful, sweet, soft, beautiful...shes a Prya. She makes the character real and believable, throut her eyes she delivers billions of sentiments, watch her in the "6 footsteps" dialog...she was rocking.
Kismat Konnection is a good movie but its not a flawless one (like every thing else). Two things irritated me. The first one was the choice of Canada to be the background of the story . it was beautiful, no doubt about it, with the help of a good cinematography combined with a nice camera work every frame was catchy. But doesit realy matter ? be it Canada or Delhi or Bombay? breaking with the nice tradition of the homeland sets was very disappointing to me and with no added value. the second flaw is the timing of the songs: the music was nice but something was missing in the process of emerging it into the plot, specially the one when Prya asks Raj if hes in love... it was very irritating. Such errors must be avoided by a Director like Mirza. My fortunate Kismat make me see this movie, it was touching, funny and entertaining , what can i ask more? yahe asle konnection kon Filmi world hai
