In bollywood scripts are written keeping the stars in mind or to suit a particular type of audience or masses.
somebody quoted ’’ in hollywood it takes 2 years to finalize the script and 2 months to direct it but in bollywood its vice versa’’.
Director Chandan Aurora has tried to change that formula by chosing charactors actor not stars keeping script in mind.Its a delight to see Rajpal Yadav playing the lead which is very uncommon in our ’’star ruled’’ Industry.
Story:
It showcases
a) Love is eternal.Height, age etcc.........does not matter.
b) u shouldn’t let urself to feel inferior because there is something special in u which diffrentiates u from n u should be proud of urself.
Mithilesh Shukla (yadav), a librarian in Lucknow university doesnot want to get married because of his age and few inferiority complexes abt himself.All his youth had gone in fulfilling famlily commitments.
Then one day His mama ji and mother force him to see this gal ’’Rituparna Sengupta’’.He gets bowled out by her beauty ’’love at first sight’’ and she also agrees to marry him inspite of being taller and very beautiful.They say ’’ Love is eternal’’ .
But some people dont like this unmatached pair and never hesitate to give their special opinion like ’’Langur ke haath Angur lag gaya hai’’.This develops inferiority complexes and insecurities in Shukla.His insecurities increases when his best friend (varun Badola), Milk man, rikshawwala etc......behave differently and show more interest in his wife, which further increases after the arival of ’’Kay Kay ’’( his wife’s childhood friend) .
’’nobody can make u inferior unless u allow them’’.
The whole story revolves around shukla n its ’’shukla against shukla’’.most of the time he struggles against his thoughts and inferiorities.
it looks funny when he tries to increase his height(via tablets, yoga, baba, aurvedic..................) and copy Kay kay’s style( how hard one tries, he cant be somebody else!!!!) but sometimes he makes u emotional too.u tend to get attached to his insecurities and thoughts.
i feel for the rest of the story u need to rush to your nearby theatre.
Plus: simple and good script, yadav rules.......i feel this role was tailor made for him and he has played it wonderfully .sengupta is a fine actress.music is melodious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(its great to see this new trend in bollywood of actors not dancing around the trees.The music is chosen according to the script and used in backgroud only ).
Badola , kay kay othre supporting actors have played their small roles wonderfully too.
overall the treat ment of movies if great...i recomend this movie for its simplicity, uniqueness and great experimental effort.
Minus : it does not have the ingredient of typical bollywood movie (item number, starcast etccccccccccccccc ) but trust me u will definately like it .
