I heard a lot about Mainland China- E.M. Bypass - Kolkata.
Being a Chinese food lover, me and my husband headed for this restaurant for fine dinner. And MC left us brooding over their food. it was awesome.
Interior& Decoration:
Inside of the restaurant is exclusively decorated with Chinese pictures, stone/wood sculptures, scriptures etc. like classic Chinese hall. Specious, well lighted, designed interior is pleasing. Sitting is comfortable and waiting area is also well decorated.
Food& Beverages:
There is nothing to criticize about food here. Delicious dishes having authentic Chinese flavor and a wide range to satisfy your taste-buds. I loved the spicy tangy taste with smoky smell. We had Hunan Duck as appetizer, Noodle with crab-meat, Fish in Chinese sauce and black-pepper fried rice in main course.
I had a cocktail named "Caiprioska" - kaffir lemon flavor which was very refreshing. They have good collection of years old antique wine.
Service:
The service is good enough. They served food in well manner, they asked how we liked the food, they suggested food from the menu to our taste. Even they noticed it was our anniversary and surprised us with a small cake! One of them also clicked a photo of us.
Drawback:
Only one issue is this restaurant has no restroom inside. It is associated with next door restaurant Oh! Calcutta and guest have to go there to use the common restroom.
Value for Money: Leaving on your decision. Expensive but exclusive. Though 5000/- bucks for couple is a bit expensive but since it is a beautiful sophisticated dinner experience on a special date with your’one& only’(pun indicated), you may go for it. Besides, it is one of the best famous Chinese Restaurants in Kolkata to make you taste the original Chinese spices and sauces. I really loved it.
