I recently went to Makkumath but I must say this place is full of uncertainty and peril as there is no proper BSNL telephone booth and ATM.It is a remote and deserted village and in winter though in a temple Tunganath lingam is worshipped but here no proper restaurant is available and neither hotels are available .Only we found a home stay after long and toilsome search but the price was skyrocketing for food .We could not find any birds or chattering of birds. We went to a bird watching tower but no birds come to this place due to its remoteness and hostile location.Water is extremely scarce resource here .We suffered a lot and in this unrecognized village we did not find any adventure .Neither there can be scope for scuba diving nor paragliding nor skating , skiing in winter .We went to the camp for birds but only saw a magpie that we saw elsewhere even .The place has no way for walking and all the time we had fear of being robbed .It is just a worthless village in Gadwal Himalaya .We could not see any pinnacles or peaks like kedarnath or gourishankar though the sky was clear .We got info in a book but we must say all info given in the book is wrong and exaggerated .We could not walk or cars can not move here due to sufficient roads .The Govt has to do something so that tourists do not boycott going there .Do not risk your life as there is no such natural beauty that can make you forget your physical toil .I do not recommend for a visit to Makkumath in Uttarakhand .
