It’s a romantic story about 2 twins sisters. Olivia and victoria henderson. Olivia is always responsible while victoria is wild and adventurous.They always played tricks on there family and friends and not even there dad can tell them apart.
Victoria gets into a relationship with a married man called Toby. They are caught together by someone who knows her dad. when he finds out he forces her to marry into a loveless marriage to charles dawson who olivia is in love with.
Charles lost his wife susan on the titanic and left him with a 9 year old son. Victoria can’t stand being married to him. she tried to love him but she could’nt so she asks olivia to switch places with her. They make it seem like olivia is away and victoria is still living with charles. They are so identical charles can’t tell them apart and does’nt know that his wife is in europe.
Olivia has twin girls with charles and victoria has a boy in europe with a major she meets at the war. He dies by a bomb and victoria is badly injured. He was the only person who knew there secret.
Olivia gets a telegram from europe telling her that victoria has been injured. Her and charles go to europe and victoria tells him the truth that she is his wife before she dies. he gets angry about this at first but then they make up and olivia and charles
get married on there way home to new york.
The end of the book is really good when it says
she was her partner, her confidante, her friend, her cohort in all mischief.... the other side of her life.... her heart....the other side of the mirror.
It makes you understand how much these to sisters loved each other.
