Lens accumulates Dust & Problems with features.

Friends I bought this Nikon coolpix S9900 point and shoot camera on Christmas of 2015 and have used it a lot. I purchased it online for 14500 rupees. I chose this particular model because it has the swivel LCD screen and more importantly it has 30x optical zoom which I needed the most, this was priced within my budget with this model compared to any other brand.

I stopped using the camera now. and here are my reasons for it. My honest and humble opinions,

1) The camera is very bulky and heavy, not how a point and shoot must be!

2) The zoom lens is prone to accumulating a lot of dust inside which ends up spoiling my pictures as the dust specs get very obvious on zooming. Trust me cleaning the lens assembly is a long and tedious process to be done at the service centre.

3) The focussing issue on zooming beyond 20x is very very annoying! I capture fast moving images and I need the camera to focus in an instant! This camera lets me down here.

4) The battery life has steadily deteriorated and that too pretty soon! only about 4 months.

5) I have great difficulty in sharing images from the camera SD card using the WiFi or NFC feature, it simply doesn’t work most of the times.

6) This model may do okay initially in capturing still images but video recording is never top notch.

I gave the S9900 its fair chance, however with all the above mentioned shortcomings I will not recommend this to anyone. Such a below average product is not expected from Nikon. The price to performance ratio is simply not matching. Please look for a DSLR instead by investing 5000 rupees more. I give the Nikon S9900 a thumbs down.
