I gifted a Nissan Micra XL petrol for my wife birthday which has turned out to be the worst & expensive decision as of now.
My options were Honda Brio / Nissan CVT / Nissan Micra. Chose the Nissan for the interior space & looks. Nissan CVT was not available so was forced to settle on the Nissan Micra XL
The car was delivered on 30th Aug 2013, the first thing I noticed about the car was the loud transmission whining noise in the 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear. Of course the transmission noise was audible in test drive car but only in the first gear! in my car the noise is audible in all lower gears.
Added to this there is a horrible cluttering(rattling) sound from the gear box every time you accelerate from low RPM in all gears .
The experience of driving the car in the city is extremely irritating due to the noise, Feels like driving a auto rickshaw with all the whining and cluttering. Rolling up the windows make the sound even worse as the external traffic noise is cut off and these 2 noise really irritates your drive in addition with the loud Tyre noise.
If you are a driver who prefers to have a silent and drive in the morning. Never every think of driving Micra. You will regret every morning when you start your car.
The car is 3 months now and done 1350 km. Expressing my concern with Shahwar Nissan in Bangalore resulted in their Technicians trying very hard to convince me that all Nissan Micras have this issue. They are not willing to listen, Nissan seems to have done a good job in training them to push away concerns expressed by customers.
I escalated the issue with Nissan. They registered a compliant and have redirected the complaint to the dealer. Shahwar nissan guys took the car again(3rd time), tried to do something which they have not informed me, returned the car with no difference.
I am waiting for a formal communication from Nissan before approaching the consumer court for providing me a sub standard product.
