This review is about the Nizaams outlet at BDA complex, Indiranagar. It is not called Nizaams anymore but goes under a new name Hot & Fresh, I think. But the food is still good, and the rolls are among the better ones to have in Bangalore.
First of all, this isnt a place to sit and eat, being located at a BDA complex means that the place is quite shady. There are just a few plastic tables and charis under the sky, and not much else. Rather, you would see people pulling up in their cars, and having takeaways.
Indeed, Nizaams in the place if you want to tkae away some really teasty rolls. They have some other tandoor dishes like Chicken Tikka and tandoori chicken, among others, but I have only sampled the Rolls till now.
FIrst things first, the rolls are nice and large, and the rotis are nice and warm to have. My personal favourite is the Double Chicken Egg Roll, which I think costs around Rs. 45 these days.
It is a roti cooked with an egg coating in the inside and stuffed with chicken tikka, onions and a few pieces of green chilli.
THe nice part is, the amount of onion is not too much, and they are not as stingy with the chicken stuffing as is there at some other places, like American Corner near Rex Theatre on Brigade Road.
Still, the American Corner rolls are also quite good, just not in the same league as Nizaams.
Another restaurant I would like to metnio is Kati Zone, where thye combine a nice clean, McDonalds liek ambience with serving rolls instead of burgers. But those rolls I find not tasty, and too expesive, (around Rs. 60 + taxes). Of course, if you need a place to sit and eat, it is easily way better than Nizaams, which I feel is purely a takeaway joint.
So, for a nice treat for friends and family, you could get 4 rolls for under Rs. 200, which is not a bad deal at all.
