I purchased nokia 3110 classic sometime around in sep 2008 and used it till april 2011. Now I have given it to my cousin kid sis to use. And I must say that this phone proved to be a very good buy. Like all other nokias phone, it is very sturdy and rock solid. It must hav falled from my hands nearly some 40-50 times, and some of the falls wer real bad ones, but always it emerged undamaged. For some last year or so I have been using it rather very roughly(coz it had become old so my interest in it gradually decreased) but still the phone has managed to bear all my harsh treatment and emerge as a winner.
But the same cant be said about the accessories provided by nokia along with it. The charger got useless rather quickly after purchase. Later on I purchased another original nokia charger but it also met with the same fate. The same problem is there with their earphones. Gets damaged pretty quickly. And this is not the problem that only I faced. Even my sisters and cousins all have nokia cells. Though their phones r also pretty sturdy like mine, but accessories gets damaged pretty quickly. So, nokia should certainly take note of this problem because I have not seen such issues with other brands cellphones(My moms LG phones charger was still in working condition after some three years of use)
I got the phone for somewhat 5000 rs with usb cable, a carry case and 1 gb memory card. And must say for a cellphone this cheap in 2008 it has most of the features that one would have desired back then. FM radio, music player, bluetooth, usb port, camera, video player, web browser. So no wonder it became one of the most sold phone. Most of my friends have used it at some time in their life.
Its great features include very good signal coverage, the delivery report that we get after every sent msg does not clutter inbox like some oder brands phones and also if you open dem dey describe details like msg content and time at which it got delivered, the 1.3 megapixel camera takes pretty good pictures at daytime but its pretty useless at night, and being nokias phone it is very customisable. There are tons of themes available on internet for it and I used many of them on my phone and loved it. Same cant be said about my new samsungs smartphone
But it did had some drawbacks performance wise like its speakers sound quality is very low. Comaparatively samsungs low-cost phones have very good sound quality. Also there is no mobile tracker feature in nokias phone and no option to completely disallow packet data connection for people who do not wish to use it at all. So if accidentally you open browser you will be charged. But this are the problems with all nokias phones and not just 3110c. And also few months back after I shut it down n start again, it wud take sum good 15-20 mins to restart
But overall I was very satisfied with my phone for about 2 n half years. Iam not writing this review to suggest people to purchase it(Its anyways outdated n not available) but to let know everyone about the benefits and drawbacks of having a nokia cellphone. Nokia provides some of the best features on phones hardware-wise but nowadays they are losing on d smartphone market because of their outdated symbian os. Symbian is no competition to android or apple. So, although I loved my nokia phone I wont advise people looking to purchase smartphone to buy nokias smartphone. Surely go for android as its the coolest os available and the no of apps and games that are available in android market alone will convince anyone to go for an android phone
P.S.note: I cant comment about nokias repair services coz I never felt the need to take it to them :)
