So I bought this new 6300 around 4 months back for 2 reasons
A. it was a NOKIA
B. I like slim phones and they made it!
Now I have been using different makers sony-ericcson, samsung, nokia, & panasonic...so it was obvious I was going to compare it to my previous experiences.
some of you guys might remember I reviewed sony-ericsson k-700i some time back.
ok now coming to the point.
- style and design: I like the fit n finish of the phone and it feels really good in hand.
the body is metallic and hence prone to scratches so you have to be a little careful with it.
- the screen: as many users have mentioned , it has 16 million colours and so the view is brilliant,
you can actually view the same quality as on a computer screen . its bright and clear both in day & night .
ease of use : now this is something Nokia users will appreciate. they kept it user friendly and very easy to use..unlike some high-end nokia phones. every function is a button away. now compared to the other nokia siblings , 6300 is fast . all the functions start up quick, be that be the camera, music player, radio, calculator , even the address book. !
Camera: it a 2 MP camera, well...it does its job in daytime. picture quality is good when u have lots of light around , but go any darker...and it gets blind..add to that the absence of a "flash"!! how could they leave such a basic thing out ? well...read on may be I have an answer.
music player: the moment you switch it on, you see a bright display , with great "fonts" and scroll type titles. which is good, but the main reason we play music is to enjoy it !? thats where I think Nokia needs to do a lot of work. the sound quality is not so good, infact as I have been using sony -ericsson K-700i , its no where near to that experience. the speaker is bad , considering how much you pay for it . although its better than "no-music".
radio: radio reception is fine , again if u just wanna to do "time-pass" listening...not as good as sonys "thump" ! although functions are easy and fast to use.
Battery:AIf you make n receive a lot of calls and buy trendy phones to show-off then it would easily run for 2 days on a full charge. B. if u get around 10 calls a day...and also want to make use of all the funtions, it may not last more than 10 hours. and C. If you just love to play with new gadgets and like squeezing the last drop of juice. you have not more than 3 hours !
Games: I didnt like the games on this one. period.
9. Internet & GPRS services: thats also good, pages open quickly and fast , and display as I mentioned is great. also the themes are pretty good, nice use of bright colours. and this is what the biggest drawback is !!
because the screen is very bright and well illuminated it eats up a lot of battery power! and thats why the I would say Nokia shud have used a high power battery for this one instead of BL-4c.
that is the only drawback this phone has, but other than that its a great phone , with lots of features and options. so if u can make do with the short talk time then at Rs. 8500 as on 12-09-2007. this is the best value for money !
