Panasonic ET50 - Good Picture, Nice 3

strong textI have a 42ET50 for couple of months now. This is post using Sony LCD & Panasonic Plasma range. So, I am not a new adopter of HDTV technology. Let’s talk about the product here. Essentially all the features used while selecting the poduct are listed below: A) HD Picture Quality : HD channels look superb on the TV and match any other product from competitors like Samsung, Sony.

I have another plasma ( Samsung E490) at home and I can vouch for that. B) SD Picture Quality : It does look better than LG range like LS5700 which falls in the top LED category ( without any 3D). Samsung always has an edge on others in terms of SD picture, which stands true even in this case well. Feeling of ’Could have been better’ holds true in this case.

C) 3D Quality : "Superb without any cross talk" is what comes to your mind when you view this product for a 3D experience. Zero Crosstalk with no flicker. Beats even top of the line Plasma’s like GT50 etc for a 3D performance. D) Black Levels: Panasonic messed it up here. A low contrast ratio would mean users may not enjoy the movies like the way they do on a plasma. This is the only weakness on a list of features which otherwise present a quality product.

E) VFM Quotient : This is an expensive product and you are looking at spending above 75+. Other options in the similar price range inclue Panasonic GT50, Sony HX750, Samsung 7 Series. All these are equally good if not better. Only reason I went for this product was the fact that I am not comfortable with using Plasma with users including mom/wife at home ( Fear of Image Rentention) and lack of faith on Samsung brand. Else, GT50 / Samsung 7/8 Series are definitely a better product.

I would strongly recommend to visit the showroom and check the product with own pair of eyes as well, This web-site definitely provides you a chance to identify an answer to - if its worth it or not.
