I purchased this mp3 player in Nov 2008 for around Rs 8000 from a Philips store, when it was the latest launch from Philips in mp3 player category against tough contenders like Ipod!
This Gogear is a gorgeous device with glossy screen and smooth feel.
The picture quality was quite good. Sound quality of mp3 player was also impressive as it included one surround sound feature for giving high end deep bass. But mine was a 4GB storage device. There was a 8GB variant too available at a higher price.
The player had radio with good sound and recording feature. The device was user friendly and very simple. The brand name provided reliability to this player.
But it was quite costly in terms of the features it had. Only avi videos were playable and not much formats were supported as I found. I had to convert videos to its screen size and only then it could play the videos. This really was a turnoff over other players like Cowon and Ipods.
So it was a huge mistake of my life to invest in such a device which became outdated very soon when smartphones have come up with much better features today and that too a much lower cost! You could buy a better smartphone than wasting Rs 8000+ on such players.
