Blood stains still lie on the floor, mocking at the failed trails of living no more. The curtains are spread wide; newspapers are stuffed as if , from sunrays he needs to hide.

He lies crumpled in one corner of the wide bed spread with the night bulb still shining bright. The posters of the dead rock stars are the only inspiration left…yeah he is the heart broke Lad trying not to cry. He plays songs to find succor as he cannot articulate his own thoughts , so feels happy that hear someone else is comprehending what he feels inside.

He plays the old CD which was lying under the cover waiting for its turn. Probably everything happens for the purpose; he never thought this CD will ever serve any purpose. He can’t forget those who don’t even remember he exists. . He reminds himself by repeatedly playing the first song and fiddles to read the name of the band “Raeth” – He grins , the guy must have gone through break-ups, just like him...

Bhula do Bhula do woh batein purani, jo dil ko jalati rahi

Who yadein tumhari who batein tumhari jo humko satati rahi

Woh kaisi subah thi khushiyo ka tha safar, Sadiya aur sang the koi na thi fikar

Dukh aaya .. such khoya … gam ban gaya humsafar…!!”

Aapne kya paraye kya sab rang hai ek se.. kachche sab dhage hai yeh bane hai raeth ke Manjil na sathi hai chalta hu mai bekhabar…!!”

The string in the background melts within him … he feels someone is singing just for him .. lyrics which speaks his mental state but he is not able to comprehend.. He switches to the next song .. Wondering if that gives him a positive energy …he can hear the slow drums … haa in the background

Kitne Zalim hai jo yeh kehte hai … Tod lo phool .. phool chodo mat

bagbaan hum to iss khayal ke hai, tehniyo ka lasoo neechodo mann

chod do phool phool todo mat…

He laughs at the lyrics … and wonders if  such people exist who even think in these lines .. nowadays people only find a way to mock at you in your painful days.. slowly the drums which are playing in the background fade or might be he’s dozed off ...

Bheege se kesu hai tere sooni si aankhen hai pyari si ankhon mujhko abb to chupa .. haan samaa le.. tare se aayi ya tum apsara ho .. Ho iss jahan ki nahi tum ..tum kya bala ho…

Strong drum beats breaks his sleep and takes him back to the time when he saw her first and was completely lost in her … the lyrics were so apt...Slowly another one begins with just guitar … playing slowly…

Door aise duniya thi, jisme hum tum rehtey they

Khwabon ke dagar pe chalke, hum tum se yeh kehte they

He rewinds to hear the strings being played again.. its giving him a soothing feeling … he feels like falling again .. but by then a lines haunts him …Akela hu mai ….

He nods agreeing to the fact that it was love and nothing else… probably he realized only when he missed her presence in ‘March’, when winter was planning to fade from the roads on Delhi and so did he from her memory…all he remembered was humming ‘chandni ratein’ … but Raeth had a substitute which was better …again with a haunting voice mesmerizing you.

raat aur chandini hai , tu khoyi kahaan

pyar ki khusboo, main tanha yahaan

bin tere jhuka main, main woh shaame bhula na saka…

Song gives feel of sitting in some bar. He felt like sipping the beer kept next to him. He wondered how with the same instrument these guys are able to give a different feel everytime.. he forgot somewhere what’s he is going through and was lost in the electric guitar playing between the para. – he nods again “Mai tanha yahaan….” He pulls up the beer and remembers how she use to hate him drinking during the weekdays.  He wants to chuck her thoughts but this Raeth started another situational song …

Ab kyuu….uuuun har baat pe, Tum mujhko yaad aate ho

Pehle ka zamaana thha kya, Har pal tu sang thha mere

Pyaar tera thha zindagi, Tu ne wafa kyun na ki

Humse khaata yeh hui, Ke humne tumse pyaar kiya

His sips the beer and walks lazily over all the corners of the house which remind him of  “HER” … even the spare toothbrush she kept on the window awaits to be thrown. Sehra ki tapish hai ab yeh zindagi, Tum bin jee na sakoonga main kabhi

He is still marveling if this phase will get over? Weird piece of music begins, probably  time for the next song … again the hard hitting drums .. But its not a rock number its a slow haunting number. Lyrics which make him shed a few more tears, which travel all the way and drop in his beer mug…

tum bin ye zindagi to berang hai berang hai, berang hai,

tum jo paas  mere duniya sang hai, duniyaa sang hai,

rangon ko hathon mein sama jane do hoo

mujh mein tum sama jao, ya mujh ko sambhalo in saason mein

ho o o hoo hoo

But will she ever know? She sat there numb.. when He cried and pleaded to give it a try. Her lines “Okay we will friends” were like a slap. As if she was obliging him .. FC*K.. What a waste of tears. Even he agrees “Jo huya ho gaya .. yeh aansoo mita do”

keh na sakeeh, jo keh diya aansoo oo oo ne

wo kahani jo thi sunani, nikle the hum raho pe khushiya leke

jo huya ho chuka ye aansoo mitaa dooo

He wipes his tears takes a shower and after couple of remixes—he hears them  play a fast drum based number something which  lighten ups his mood and takes him back to the days of DOSTI …  Door jag main taara..tanha dekhe jag saara

dekhun usko toh phir main un yaadon main kho jayoon

kaisa din the suhane, paapon ke the gehwane

woh choti choti khusiyan jeete the hum

aur khud se yehi kehete the hum

Door bell rings and he find his bunch of friends …. The ones whom he doesn’t have to let go, because of time, convenience or compromise.

Phir mile hai , dekho saare aaj

phir mile hai , dekho saare aaj

sabki ki ankhoon main hai bas ek wohi baat …

Album leaves him with a smile … he wonders.. How they come up with such songs and music album? As if it was made for him and he just did the right thing by picking it up. He basks in self praise and laughs at his own thoughts. But honestly couple of Guitar, Drums, Keyboard and a Rustic voice of Wajhi Farouqui can make such a difference? He wonders as he picks up to check the details of the band .. its just a three member rock band from Pakistan, apart from Wajhi its Farabi (lead guitar), Mustafa (bass guitar).

Whatever … he felt that once he should write to them and thanking them personally. But then he realized that even the Band has broken and gone separate ways.

Nothing last forever especially when it’s Too Good to be true!

P.S: Manish I hope I did justuce to ur favorite album
