Ajay Devgn’s movie RAID story is revolving around the officers from Indian Revenue services( IRS) . Starring Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla, the upcoming thriller is set in Uttar Pradesh and is inspired by the real life raid incidents which caught the attention of everyone back in the 1980’s.
Real life incident:
The film has been loosely based on the raids carried the then Income Tax Commissioner of Lucknow, Sharda Prasad Pandey. He was said to have carried out the longest raid in the history that lasted for more than 18 hours. In fact, there were around 90 officers who were present to carry it out and almost 45 people to count the notes.
The raid was carried out in the house of businessman and Congress MLA Sardar Inder Singh in Kanpur. Apparently, almost 1.6 crores were recovered in cash. But the raid was carried out peacefully. Given the appearance of Indira Gandhi in the Black Jama Hai song, this might just be true!
