Hello Friends, Raincoat is not just a movie, its a lyric embedded with beautiful moments. Its a classic in modern era, a film that reminds me of the calibre of Satyajit Ray. Rituparno ghosh knows how to get his work from the actors in the minimum duration. The movie gives us th eglimpse of the true potentials of much criticised actress Aishwarya. She proves her acting talent and at the same time stands tall in front of the very brilliant actor like Ajay.

Story in the nutshell: -
Manoj is under financial crisis and he goes to Kolkatta to arrange some money. Here he stays at his friends place and meets his friends to borrow money from them. But theres someone he knows in the city whom he want to meet, a forgotten friend, his lover, his life, "BACHHPAN KI MOHABBAT". He goes to meet her. After much of knocking Neeru opens the door and shes drapped in an expensive saree. Shes too rich but its later when she goes out to buy some eatables that Manoj comes to know that shes living in very pitiful situation. In a matter of few days the landlord willkick them out as they have not paid the rent for the last 10 months.
But Neeru dont want Manoj to know her condition therefore she goes on pretending but gets a note in the pocket of the raincoat that she borrowed from Manoj to go out. She gets to know the real condition of Manoj.
As it happened in O Henrys Story "GIFT OF THE MAGI", they both give away whatever they had to help out the other........
Performance: -
Ajay Devgan
Ajay is undisputable the best actor after Amitabh in the industry. He can perform any role with ease. Hes got the serious look needed in the movie and at the same time he has got the accent that falters when telling lie......he sounds so convincing for the role and at the same time dont sound monotonous. He indeed gives one spactacular performance in this movie and whether you call it the charisma of the director or the BEAUTY WITH HIM, he delivers dialogues with such excellence that towards the end you get impatient and your heart cry out.
Aishwarya Rai
She gives another outstanding performance after HDDCS and Devdas. The people who said that no other director than Sanjay Leela Bhansali can get the best out of her should have got the answer after watching this movie. A crooked housewife and a broken lady from inside, how convincingly she portrays both the characters. Myrespect towards her as an actress have increased after watching this movie.
Shes not just a beauty but a lady with lot of untapped talent. Bollywood hasnt been able to get much out of her, and its not the loss of the DIVA but of the Indian Cinema.
Annu Kapoor
Nothing much from him in themovie but for th elittle time he appears hes great. Though he doesnt leave any long lasting impression, he do justice to his role.
Direction: -
A big director in the making. Hes the winner of so many national and international level awards. Each and every movie of his has got national award. But thats not enough, he is the man of virtue. As I said in the bieginning, he has got the talent of Satyajit Ray. He speaks a lot in less words.
Well in this movie he gives taut direction as a result of which the movie gets critical acclaim all over. The kind of theme he takes is not an easy task to handle. A movie in one room, can anyone even think. But he thought and directed as well.....accolades to him.
Cinematography: -
What new can be done inside the room, is what you must have been thinking nad there wasnt much left for cinematographer in the movie, ha ha ha....here isthe answer. The cinematography in the movie is unique and of its kind....simply lovely.
