Another proud owner

After a week full of research, I declare myself a proud owner of SGH C100! And folks the good news is that the prices have come down even further - I got this beauty for Rs. 6350 and that’s official Samsung India price !

There were three models competing in my mind - Nokia 3100, Samsung C100 and Samsung X100. Ugly, plasticy looks, high price higher than 8000 and lack of easy PC connectivity (I don’t wanna shell out 3K for the f data cable !) ruled out Nokia. Samsung X100 is a good choice @ Rs 7200 - it’s got WAP 2.0 in place of 1.2.1 and supports MMS apart from features on C100, but lacks infra red port - don’t know why ! BTW, it’s got 9 Mb memory, which way too good for phone with that price.

Well, my wish list for a phone had three main items - easy & cheap PC connectivity, large phonebook memory, WAP and GPRS. Goodies like colour screen and polyphonic ringtone were welcome, but not a must, Camera was strict no-no. So C100 came out as natural winner.

Here is something useful for folks who own C100 - the Samsung EasySync software 1.1.124 supports C100 and can be downloaded from

Update: Forgot to mention that this software is supposed to allow you synchronise your outlook contacts with phone book, using the IR port.

So go ahead and enjoy...but one word of caution: I have not tried the software as yet..waiting for a USB IR port for my PC! BTW, can anyone give any idea as to how much would a USB IR port cost?
