I was really attracted to this phone at the phone shop. It was small and compact, just as I feel phones should be, unlike the myriad of large, brick-like handsets we are accustomed to. Yet, in spite of its dimunitive size, it hosted a good number of features - a brilliant 262K TFT screen, MMS, e-mail, bluetooth, MP3 support, and so on. That said, it wouldve been better if the speaker had had somewhat of a higher volume. A built-in speaker phone is also missing, which wouldve been really handy especially when youre out on the street, amidst loud noise. After all, its not feasible to use the bundled speaker attachment under such circumstances. However, it does ship with a bundled earphone which might come in handy in these situations. Though Im not a music lover, those that are, might find the 81MB user memory, with the lack of an expansion slot, a downside. However, it can manage to store sufficient songs for your daily commuting with the memory that it has on board.
The bottom line is that the Samsung SGH-E880 is a good option to consider if youre looking for a compact phone with all the possible features you can think of. However, music lovers might want to move away from it, and in that case, they could consider the SGH-X700, which employs the same software and screen as in the E880, but includes FM radio as well as an expansion slot, all in a candy-bar form.
