Before you say ahh. fake review to counter the bad ones, honestly, I am a real user. Just a private person who will not reveal personal details on a public site here. Before choosing to book with Savaari, I read all the bad reviews here and elsewhere on them. Some were really awful experiences with ruined holidays. But, I also noted that they were rated 4.4 from 498 reviews on Google reviews with some glowing tributes.
This week, I required an Innova at short notice in Pondicherry to travel about 500 kms round trip from there, with one night’s halt. I called 3 local taxi operators in Pondicherry from the city where I live, including one recommended by the hotel I was going to stay in, along with Savaari. The local taxis all quoted 10%-15% more than Savaari. All promised to call back with a confirmation that an Innova was available. None could find me one. Relying on the good reviews and hoping for the best, I booked with Savaari who confirmed an Innova and took a 25% advance on booking.
A really well maintained Innova with an excellent driver showed up sharp on time when I arrived in Pondicherry. I had a comfortable, trouble free trip. In particular, I haven’t ridden with a more professional and better driver in the recent past. He also knew all the roads where I went and offered helpful info when asked. Based on that experience, I would use Savaari again. If I need a car in the city I live in, I would know of other options like a local taxi service. But, if I were booking a car in a city I was just visiting where I didn’t know anyone, I feel Savaari could provide better options with less risk, than a local taxi operator who’s just a name and a number on Google. The local taxi operators in Pondicherry all wanted an advance sent to their bank accounts and to me, that felt like higher risk than giving Savaari an advance.
I hope Savaari has paid attention to the bad experiences reported by the majority here on Mouthshut and done something about it. I don’t know if I was just lucky, but in my experience, I would say that 4.4 rating on Google reviews is totally justified.
