Last Sunday went to Sher-e-Punjab along with family as heard quite a lot about it. In fact, we wanted to have lunch away from home yet to have the ghar ka khana.The greenery of the road towards the dhabha and the drizzling really made me nostalgic about travelling to Siliguri.My idea of dhabha was totally different as I always had been to dhabas in and around Jharkhand.The look of a dhaba is more like a motel on the highways.We felt as if we are in Punjab-people having chicken, roti, lassi, ma ki dal etc. on the khatia.The place was full of people.But there is lot of place to accomodate people.Here one can have birthday parties, anniversaries etc. inside the AC restaurant.Bar is good and one can have grub and drinks with family without any hassles.
The ambience is very good.The food preparations are good and tasty.The only thing Sher-e-Punjab should have more manpower on Sundays as it took a little time to serve food. One can have continental dishes too. South Indian dishes are also included in the menu card.The restaurant should have music too and the staff should have dress code.
Reservation will be necessary if big crowd is planning to have grub here.
The rates are very reasonable.This place should be visited by families on holidays. It reminds you of our native places, makes you nostalgic and the long drive through the greeneries and away from the hustle-bustle of the city life brings you peace of mind.
