Not a very good buy

After using Panasonic GD-92, I was looking for a cell which has all the basic functions of a mobile phone (not a mixture of different variety of function like PDAs and Digital Cameras etc.) After a detailed search of the available makes and models, I came up with Siemens A-65. It has all the functions that I wanted. It has colored display and polyphonic ring tones. It has MMS and GPRS capabilities and also it has enough memory to cater for the address book requirements. Also the price was reasonable. However after a month of usage I found that I missed quite a few things while choosing a new mobile phone. Reception is not of a high quality. In the basement where other phone works A-65 would start searching for the network. Also the volume of the ringtones is very low. Especially in the noisy environment it is likely that you would miss a call. I had to keep it in my shirts pocket so that I could hear the ringing bell. There is an inbuilt feature in Siemens A-65 that on every incoming call or message the mobile will first vibrates and then ring and you cannot disable this function by any means. And one thing more the mobile tends to get slower after you have used it for some time (just like windows get slower after some time). No downloadable ringtones/picture for A-65 are available on the Siemens own wap site. Alphabets/characters on the key pad are also not visible and you have to keep the phone close to your eyes while writing a message. Animations are available but you cannot use the animation with any function like screen savers. Theoretically A-65 has all the useful functions but practically its not a good buy and worth your money.
