Anyone who has seen this movie needn’t not look at the topic of this review. It’s a given. You can remember so many lines from the movie, that will stick in your memory for life and can laugh about until dooms day. Snatch is quite a misleading title and girls seem to draw away from this movie because of it. NO THE MOVIE is not a reference to the female anatomy ...... we are talking about the verb snatch (to take something away quickly in secret!)
The Plot of Snatch
The story begins with a bunch of gangsters dressed up as Jewish men who enter a building to buy a large amount of jewelry and diamonds. They are undetectable by security as well as to the viewers. They talk about scriptures and how the word ’’virgin’’ used in the bible was misused and that is why there are so many Catholics out there. Basically it says the whole bloody population are horny bums. The masked man take off their yamakuhs and suits and display pistols in which they search for the large diamond stone valued at what seems to be a large chunk of change.
The setting goes back and forth to other sets of gangsters from around the world who learn about the diamond and whose goal is to retrieve this diamond. One gangsters goal is selling cheap caravans which then leads to find this diamond. Another group rigs boxing matches and then wants the diamond. A local pawn shop jeweller sells baubles and jewelry and then wants this diamond. They range from Trailer Trash to Ghetto, to English Mafians.
The Music
The music is incredible! None of the songs are current hits, and they don’t all evolve from North America. Some jewish hits and European mixes are all involved from Soldier Brown to I Dont Like Reggae and Many More that you will sing to when it pops into your head in the office one day.
The Characters
Mickey, the boxing prodigy, is a pikey caravan dealer who sells cheap caravans to people. He is the only American in the movie yet he is the only one we can’t understand ..... why?
Well after long controversy about the director, Guy Ritchie’s Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ cast of englishmen who speak with such a piercing accent that you can’t understand them, made Brad Pitt the only member whom you can’t understand, ...nice twist.
The actor who plays Bricktop is phenomenal! He is the ultimate lookalike of Austin Powers father. He has the cruddiest teeth, looks like a wimp .... but is a guy I would never mess with.
The Action Scenes and Sound Effects
After the first scene when they enter the jewellers and the sound of effect of a fast awkward mood change where the pistols are opened up and revealed under the vest of one of the accomplices was very exhilarting. You could feel your own blood boil as you watch it.

Well besides Home Alone and Pulp Fiction, I have to toss Snatch into my top 5 pile as all time great movies. People underestimate all the aspects that went into this movie. They don’t like the accents, the gruesomeness, the acting, the many subplots. I say to those people .... keep watching your epic films, your unfunny comedies, and your computer digitally enhanced graphics ..... total garbage!
