Is it worth the money?

Hi - Recently got some free time and did one of my favourite things - window shopping to see what’s the lastest in audio and video in town. So, I took a stroll to the ’Sony World’ showroom in Panjagutta, Hyderabad, India (Near Amrutha Mall; Pulla Reddy Sweets). Found this cute little thing - so I seriously wanted to pick it as my personal stereo. Requesting the showroom person to demonstrate the product and the next moment I was hearing to music on the Sony Portable CFD E 75. I was a bit surprised about the type of crap that has been dished out by Sony - truly and frankly, we Indians deserve better. That too for a price tag of INR 7990 (Indian Rupees).

The sound reception didnot convince me that it could be a brand from Sony. To tell you the truth, my wife really liked to put it up seeing the look and feel and the moment she heard what was belted out, we suddenly changed the decision. If anyone opines differently or otherwise, do let me know. I have definitely seen and heard better audio systems of quality (though not as big a name as Sony) in the US market. Even in the Indian market, there are much better audio systems dished out by such companies as Philips and National Panasonic (only thing they lack is a CD player). I owned a BUSH TCR-88II (if some of you have that system still with you) which was a great piece of (semi-)portable of Indian audion engineering. I (though reluctantly) gave it to my friend who still relishes it and swears not to return it back to me! With such great sound engineering, I as a proud Indian defer to accept such technology pushed down from such multinationals. The respect with which I treated a Sony product has definitely taken a beating. Thanks.
