I have oily skin that luckily is not blemish prone. Once or twice a week I like to use a exfoliating product to help ensure my skin stays blemish free.
I had always wanted to try St. Ives apricot facial scrub but Paula Begoun the cosmetic cop does not recommend this product. I have always found her recommendations to be very helpful to me.
St. Ives apricot facial scrub has just came out in a new gentle formula for sensitive skin . After giving the ingredient list a quick once over I did not notice any harsh ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate. The only thing that worried me a little was the petroleum which is not good for oily skin. However petroleum is not one of the first few ingredients so I figured I would not have a problem.
St. Ives apricot facial scrub gentle formula comes in a squeeze tube. The top is peach colored and it fades to white near the bottom. The regular formulas tube is all peach.
The 6 oz. tube is $2.50 at Walmart.
The scrub is very thick and creamy- it almost reminds me of a mud mask, however it does not dry. The scrubbies are very small and feel gritty, they do not hurt skin like the way the original seems to do. The scrub itself is white and the srubbies are peach colored.
The srub smells nice. Sort of sweet but not really flowery or fruity. I like it.
St. Ives facial scrub does a good job. I use it once or twice a week and it leaves my face feeling clean and refreshed and soft and smooth. I have not had any additional blemishes creep up from using this product.
I do feel that daily use of this would be to much for me, but I will continue to use this as part of my face care routine (until I get in a mood and want to try something else!)
