Times Ascent is one of the better offerings from the Times group. It is a weekly supplement every Tuesday which comes with the main newspaper Times of India.
The ascent is not as popular among the masses because of its limited target audience. The ascent is a very useful medium for the youngsters and Human Resource managers as well as HR personnel. The ascent has a host of features to offer. The site is well made and is not very loud. It has a friendly user interface facilitating easy navigation through its pages.
The ascent caters mainly to urban professionals and young and old job seekers. It has plenty to offer to help its users find a good job corresponding to their interests and educational background. The site is not harsh on the eyes because of its lively home page. It is nicely designed to make the user feel at ease.
The site has some really interesting features like a weekly poll, a regular column for upcoming events, thought pool that is an initiative to invite articles from young ambitious writers, daily quotes and counseling from industry experts. The site is informative covering almost everything under its domain. It also has a list of useful articles with their direct links.
The site is divided into various categories like blogs, executive education, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), events, etc. amongst these I liked the blog section which gives the site users a platform to express their views, also very helpful is the CSR section which has information on every field ranging from health care to IT, from FMCG to Finance.What I would like to see more is an easy access to old archived content cause there are some really good articles which are even relevant in today’s fast and high tech life.
Although the site is good it can use some help with its layout, the right side remains constant while a click on a link alters the other half of the page. That apart the site keeps up with the high standards of the times group.
