Introduction:
Tum Bin is the directorial debut of pop album director Anubhav Sinha. This film also marks the debut of the male actors Priyanshu, Rakesh and Himanshu as well as the female lead Sandili. People say Tum Bin was a run away hit becoz with the release of Tum Bin no other movie was released but I personally feel that if it would not have been so even then it might have been successful becoz it is worth watch this movie once. Anyway let?s get on with the story now:
Story/Plot:
It?s another romantic movie different from the usual love stories. Film starts of with celebration party going on becoz Shekhar Malhotra (Priyanshu) being awarded the Entrepreneur of the year award. There we also have his friend Bosco with him who lives in Canada. Amar Shah (Rakesh Bapat) of the famous Shah Industries in Canada meets Shekhar in this party and offers him to join Shah Industries in Canada. When Shekhar refuses he makes a bet with Shekhar that he would definitely make Shekhar come to Canada one day. The celebrations go on and after a song Amar is going back to Airport to catch his flight to Canada. He?s drunk and talking to his fiancée Peeya (Sandili) who is reciting a poem ?Tum Bin? to him.
A car comes and hits Amar who dies on the spot. The driver is none other than Shekhar himself who himself is drunk and is responsible for the killing. He hears the poem of Peeya. Being hurt by the fact that he is responsible for the killing and the sufferings of Shah Industries as well as Shah parivar he decides to confess his guilt and goes the Canada to help overcome the bad patch though which Shah Industries is currently going through.
He meets up Amar?s dad (who is in complete shock still and doesn?t speak anything) and tells everything about the accident. And somehow he joins Shah Industries who is currently being run by Peeya and the industry is being currently on verge of being sold out. Shekhar helps Peeya bringing up Shah Industries and then we have the introduction of Abhimanyu (Himanshu). By the time Shekhar had already fallen in love with Peeya but is not able to tell her becoz of his guilt. The two companies do business together and then Abhi also falls in love with Peeya. At this time Abhi proposes a scheme to Peeya for the merger of Shah Industries which according to Shekhar is not viable. So he decides to return back to India becoz he has already come to know about Abhi?s love for Peeya and thinks that he would keep her happy.
While returning to India Peeya comes to Shekhar and proposes to him but Shekhar bluntly says No to her. She now is getting engaged to Abhi but now ACP D?Mello comes to Canada to arrest Shekhar for the accident. Shekhar confesses to Peeya that he also loves her and also that he is the person responsible for Amar?s death. Now while reciting the same poem to Peeya Shekhar also meets with an accident and we are nearing the climax where ACP D?Mello closes the case and Peeya and Shekhar live happily ever after of course after the accident Shekhar is saved becoz Abhi too had given the ?Qurbani? for Peeya becoz he comes to know that Peeya and Shekhar both love each other.
Performances:
Priyanshu: Is awesome in looks as well as acting. He is the heart of the movie. His dialogue delivery and emotions are gr8 considering him as a debutant. Only at one time he seems superficial when he says the dialogues while drinking near the climax else he is gr8 to watch.
Rakesh:Has not much of a role to play but still does well. The director made him die just at the start of the movie so there is not much of a room to show his acting skills but he still did well in the little cameos he came in the movie.
Himanshu:Is ok. He is overshadowed by Priyanshu in the movie. Does ok acting. Doesn?t really make us feel like he is acting naturally but is manageable.
Sandili: Plays her part well. After coming in a few music videos she made her debut in the movie as well and she has done well. The scene in which he scolds Priyanshu is god to watch. Dances ok but acted good in the movie.
Other various guest appearances were by Navneet Nishan, Vikram Gokhale, Vrajesh Hirjee, Dina Pathak, Bosco (I forgot his real name-He?s the doc in Sush starrer Samay) etc etc. all have done well. Vrajesh Hirjee is ok trying to do some comedy. Some of the comedy scenes are ok while some are boring.
Music: Music by Nikhil-Vinay is good to hear. Although there are too many songs include in the movie some of which were not required but they are fine to watch. The ghazal sung by Jagjit Singh ?Koi Fariyaad is my favorite in the movie along with Pyar Humko Hone laga. The Ghazal comes in parts and is picturised mostly on Priyanshu and Sandili and is picturised well.
Conclusion: All in all a good movie worth watch once with family, friends as well as with ur loved one..
