I have been looking forward to go to Umerkot ever since I arrived in Bangalore a couple of years ago. Finally, I decided to try out the place along with several colleagues.Location - 80 ft Road, Koramangala. No parking available.
Decor - Okay, not overbearing.Seating - Do not dare sit outside. Koramangala Mosquitoes will have you for dinner.Drinks - Thanks to election, no alcohol served. Perhaps the waiters had finished the any left over booz as they screwed up the simple order - Fresh coconut water without mint or ice. They brought it with mint AND ice. Strike.
1.Appetizers - Crispy Prawn and Chicken Afghani were excellent. Fish was so spicy that our AP collegues had to ask for more water.Main Course - 4 out of the 5 dishes ordered arrived together and the 5th one arrived almost when everyone was ready to leave and that too after repeated reminders.
Strike 2. Most items were extremely spicy to hide the fact that food was stale and perhaps leftover from previous week. Someone forgot to tell the chef the difference between "Bharwan" (stuffed) and "Bharta" (minced). So, stuffed karela came as minced karela. Strike 3.Prices - Moderate to high. Dinner for 6 cost Rs 3600 without alcohol.Sadly, we did not have spare shoe to throw at the waiters to catch their attention or throw at the chef for such a lousy meal. Definitely mark the place for "Never Visit Again".To the Chef Sanjay Tyagi, "You are fired"
