Whose the Killer?
I for one firmly believe that a New Year needs to begin with a happy note and one needs to chill out as much as possible in the first 2 weeks and then begin with the daily chores with utmost sincerity for the rest of the year.
For the past weeks we all have been busy with our placement scene in our B-school and have had a hectic schedule and this Friday was also a hectic day and we movie freaks did not get time and strength to go for movie and so we decided we will fix up a day and fortunately today we went for the first movie of the year, Vaada.
Complete Turn Off
You must be wondering as to whether I was talking about the movie, well it is not and when we went inside the theatre the national anthem was being played and I was shocked when I saw a handful of people standing for the national anthem. I just felt like kicking the rest who were sitting and this is a sincere appeal from my side,
“Kindly give respect to our nation, after all it has given you so much in life which cannot be just measured”.
I am not here to preach you but I meant every word what I said!
The Plot
It is another murder mystery where the female protagonist (Amisha Patel) dies under suspicious circumstances. She leaves behind her husband (Arjun Rampal) and her ex (Zayed Khan).
As usual the investigation begins wherein the police is showed more as dummies than as someone who is aggressive.
Vaada basically revolves around 3 main characters Arjun Rampal, Amisha Patel, and Zayed Khan. Zayed Khan is shown as this obsessive person and predictably Amisha leaves him and gets married to Arjun as per her father’s wishes. Zayed Khan flourishes in his business and comes back only to find that she has married his friend (Arjun Rampal). Again Amisha tells him to behave himself but Zayed Khan does not listen to her and circumstances lead her to commit suicide. After that the whole movie revolves around who’s the killer and who is responsible for the whole episode?
Star Performances
The film is snappy and Arjun Rampal comes out with a decent performance. Patel lingers only long enough for you to notice that her hair alters from blonde to brown sporadically – never mind whether it’s the past or present. Khan is so over the top that he’s vaguely entertaining. He yells through most scenes, twitching uncontrollably and his wardrobe is restricted to different colored ganjis. The music for the film is just average and Himesh Reshammiya as always tends to get repetitive and the music of the film is not worth mentioning much.
Final Word
I would give this movie a star rating as it is a very decent movie and is endurable because of its tight action sequences and jerky unpredictability.
