A great temple for everyone to visit

The Vaishnodevi Temple, located in Malad(E) is a replica of the original Vaishnodevi temple in Jammu. It is located at a walking distance from Malad(E) railway station inside Subhash lane.

I’ve visited this place several times and I must say its has been really structured nicely. As you enter the temple, there will be water flow to wash for feet before entering the temple. As you enter, there will be caves(gufas) all over the temple. Sometimes you have to walk, sometimes you have to bend down and finally you have to crawl your way through to reach the main spot where the idol of Mata is kept.

On reaching the main spot, you can hear bhajan’s and keertan’s all throughout the day. Don’t forget to drink the jal(water) which comes out from the cow’s mouth at the side.

Then you can climb you way up to other small temples for Lord Shiva, Lord Hanuman and other. Then you finally come down and see lots of different god’s and goddesses kept near the exit point.

After you come out of the temple, you receive the Misri(Sugar lumps) in small packets as prasad. And yes, one must not forget that no leather items(Purses, wallets, belts, etc) are allowed in this temple and they have to be kept outside. You may find heavy rush only during the Navratri day’s or Sunday evening, others wise the temple is mostly less crowded. And don’t worry, there are ample restaurants and food stalls near this temple, So, one need not worry about the food part. Timings: 9.00 am to 8.00 pm
