Fraud whirlpool technician

We are using a whirlpool Intellifresh refrigerator from the past 2 years.


The refrigerator got shut on Thursday 23.06.2022 and a subsequent complaint was raised with complaint number BAN25062297077


A technician with mobile number +91 88848 48361 was allotted with the case and he visited us sunday 25.06.2022. There was a power cut during his visit, he opened up the machine, made some random checks and also TOOK A PICTURE OF THE PCB without doing much as the power cut was not restored during his stay.


The guy returned on Monday 26.06.2022 and after examination stated that the stabilizer and the pcb were damaged and he would replace the PCB immediately which will cost Rs 4500/- and there is nothing else which can be done.


On closer examination of the new PCB box that the guy carried, we noticed that the MRP details on the box was CLOSED WITH A DARK STICKER and the PCB also looked as if it was used elsewhere earlier.


After noticing all these, we paid him the visit charges of Rs 450/- and instructed him to leave as we would need some time to decide on the replacement.


Later during the day, we called up a local technician who visited us and set up the refrigerator for a cost of Rs 200/-!!!! Our Refrigerator is just working fine after this.


Ironically the problem was with the stabilizer power output which was fixed. The PCB was just fine, a couple of joints in the PCB were tweaked by the earlier technician just to make it look worn out and the local technician just set it right!!


We clearly understood the technician’s trick now.. He would attend customer complaints, deliberately goof up the PCB a little so that it can be restored easily later, take out the PCB and install a new PCB at Rs 4500/- . Now he would take that deliberately damaged PCB and use it at the next customer location..


During the breakage, we were so worried about our decision of buying a whirlpool product which would broke down just in 2 years!


The sad part is WHILE COMPANIES SPEND SO MUCH RESOURCES IN BUILDING A BRAND AND ENSURING QUALITY PRODUCTS TO CONSUMERS WHO INVEST THEIR HARD EARNED IN BUYING TRUSTED BRANDS, fraudsters like these technicians stoop down to cheat innocent consumers..


I urge the company to take strict action against this Technician and urge the this fraud technician to repay the visit charges paid to him for his fortune visit and ensure such things are not repeated with any consumers in the future!
