Bike for everyone

This is my first review on MouthShut. Incidentally I came to know about the website from my friend. It took me a while to get used to it. I came to know about the competition on Automobiles. I guess I could give it a shot. Driving different bikes is my passion. I just love to drive them. I will be trying to review few bikes with my understanding. Our family owns 2 bikes Yamaha Crux and Kawasaki Bajaj caliber. Before that we had Hero Honda cd 100. I don’t miss any chance if I get drive a different bike. Every bike has its own uniqueness, its own saying which just drives me crazy. Well I got to be a little technical and relate the topic under consideration to you. I would welcome any suggestions from you for improvements.

Starting with Yamaha Crux, a 4-stroke 105 cc motorcycle, I had a dilemma while rating it. Weather to give it a 3 star or 4 star. Being on the lenient side I preferred rating it 4. I would try to support my rating. First looking at the engine power says a lot. Mere 105 cc engine couldn’t be classified either a Scooter or a motorcycle. Kinetic Honda kind of Scooters or Scooterets also have a 100 cc engine. Well a bike cannot be judged just by its displacement it has other things also to determine the goodness, yes The Golden term called MILEAGE. Today we have sensational bikes with outstanding mileage like TVS victor (I wish I own one), recently introduced Hero Honda Ambition (the Upgraded version of Hero Honda CD 100). We had CD 100 but sold it for Bajaj Caliber. Now I wish I had it to get a chance to upgrade for Ambition.

Fuel tank capacity is 11 liters. This seems ok in view of 3 for reserve. The bike is almost 1 years old and it gives above 50 average. When the bike was new it used to touch 60. The suspensions are good enough for Indian roads. We have horrible road conditions in here. I thank the manufacturers for providing strong suspensions. Front suspensions are Oil damped, telescopic suspensions. Rear suspensions are 5 stage oil damped adjustable coil spring suspensions. Both front and back brakes are drum brakes. Brakes are not as good as disk brakes of Hero Honda CBZ which bring you to halt from 60 km/hr with in few seconds, but can be adjusted to an extent to provided good control. Compression ratio is 9:1 for the Engine. The maximum power of bike at 7500 revolutions per minute (RPM) is 7.6 bhp compared to 7.6 bhp at 7000 RPM.

The ground clearance important for bad road conditions is 150 mm. I think I have covered almost everything. I would say this is a just slightly above average bike. I wonder if anybody will buy the brand new bike today because lack of good features.

I would say this was a bike for the past(not so long back) and a bike for everyone. We have not faced any maintainance problem and visits to the service center. That’s one ofthe reason I’m giving it a 4 star.
