Crichton's superb

Even though I know next-to-nothing about medicine, I still found this book nearly impossible to put down. It has all the elements off a good murder mystery, and is Michael Crighton at his best.

I simply couldn’t put this book down. I sat up until 4am, unable to rest until I discovered the answer to the puzzle of who performed that operation! It was a fascinating book, which provided real insight into American medicine in the 1960’s.

The story revolves around John Berry, a pathologist, whose close friend and colleague, Art Lee, is made the scapegoat of a botched-up abortion. Temporarily swapping his doctor’s coat for a detective’s jacket, John embarks upon a dangerous mission to unmask the real abortionist and discover the lengths at which are willing to go to cover their tracks.

As you accompany John on his race to save his friend, you will discover the darker side of medical practice, and prepare to be shocked and sickened by the twisted psychology of those who practice it. Who walks the green mile in the end? After 416 pages this is one explosive ending that you’’d rather not miss.

Authentic -- and deadly medical facts coupled with spell-binding story-telling and an ingenious plot, Crichton never fails to satisfy you as your hand involuntarily turns page after page. On a more personal note: want to adopt a profession in which each new case challenges and intrigues you? Become a lawyer, or a doctor ? strongly reccomended to specially whosoever is interested in medcal sciences,
