Its a movie that released a long time ago...but since I saw the movie very recently, I thought I should pen my views about it.... A movie that I chose to see not because someone recommended it to me, it was because the movie boasted of two double academy award winners Kevin Costner and Clint Eastwood cast opposite each other.....i have always liked watching Eastwood movies, but this is the first time I saw a movie which had Costner in it.....a befitting actor I should say...
Costner plays a prison escapee Butch Hayes, who is on a run with a young kid as hostage.....played by T.J Lowther (If am not wrong!!)....he is being chased by Eastwood who plays a Texas Ranger - Red Garnett, a chase that turns out to be state wide gives us a story that makes us rethink about certain values in life.... The young kid leaves a lasting impression on the audience and so does Costner....the kid sees a father figure in Butch, someone whom the kid never knew....
the conversation’s between the kid and Costner let’s the audience think about various principles and traditions that are being followed..... The scene in which the kid wants to shoplift a casper suit is really cute....and Costner defying the principles and saying...’’Its upto to you partner’’ makes it even more interesting....there are many scenes like the above that make the movie a wonderful one to see... The cast is fantastic and so is the acting.......
COSTNER as the prisoner is wonderful....he his sharp, affectionate, jovial.....he acts really well at the end of the movie, after he is shot by the kid, due to circumstances....his deal for releasing the kid.....the way he makes the kid’s mother promise to the deals....he clearly shows his affection towards the kid and behaves like a father to the kid all through the movie.....Hats Off Costner!!
T.J LOWTHER as the kid is the trump card for the movie....he plays the character with finesse of an accomplished actor and makes us stick to the seat...he is cute and adorable and likes to be loved.....he has got an amazing smile in the movie....
CLINT EASTWOOD as the Texas ranger...what to say about this legend!!...He is calm, composed, and also in control of the situation.... The supporting cast has been good and a well directed movie......
A movie which will defy some principles and make people think.....A movie that defines love but not as in romance.... A must watch movie if you have not yet seen it.....
