A star is born is a 1954 musical that featured Judy Garland(some of us may remember her from Wizard of Oz). It is indeed a remarkable movie with everything about it just falling in place in a manner that one feels - can there ever be a better movie after this?
The movie revolves around a has-been star and an upcoming actress. As luck would have it, they marry and the has-been star eventually starts hurting the actresss career. Though they love each other to bits, the husband eventually enveloped by the soaring stardom of the actress wife. He finally decides to commit suicide to let his wife have a life beyond him.
Judy Garland and her songs especiallya man that got away andi was born in a trunk bring out the best in her. I guess, the musical is underrated and must be given the place it deserves. Though Judy lost out on the Oscar that year(now, who says the Academy awards are always fair), her performance is truly the best an actress can deliver.
Her rendition ofyou gotta go with me is simply inspiring. No wonder her daughter Liza Minnelly is such a great singer as well(probably singing is in their genes).
Watch the movie with your family and I bet you would love your wife more than ever and vice-versa.
