Gripping and enthralling

I am a huge fan of Manoj Das and read all his novels/ short stories. A tiger at twilight is a novel based on the mysteries associated with a princely kingdom named Samrgarh. The story revolves around the series of happening those started in ancient times like sacrificing a prince in front of the Deity Vaneswari who was worshiped by the Kings of Samargarh.

The novel describes how the deeds of ancestors hauls the current prince. From ancient time to current time the link is established through the palace, the deity and a man eater . This man eater of late created havoc in the valley. And there is a lady named Heera who is King’s half sister who has very strong connection with the people trying hunt the tiger. The story unfolds series of bizarre happening and some super natural influences  meanwhile.

The typical story telling style of Manoj Das would grip you to the neck and I bet you would not leave until its finished. If you love reading R K Narayan/ Sherlock Holmes, then go for it.
