Our Indian pop music scene is certainly going down the drains, and barring a few singers like KK, SHAAN, SONU NIGAM and a few others there is no one who is coming out or making great music, which is very dissapointing considering that there is no dearth of talent here in INDIA.The whole emphasis right now is on REMIXES, and hence there is no originality and its also sad to see some of the old gems being used and wasted just to sell music.There is lack of novelty, freshness, good lyrics, heart-touching vocals, melody in the Indian music , at present and that is where Pakistani music is gaining on..........................they are making some brilliant music and what sets their music apart from us is the fact that they don’t make music just to sell it, there is a certain amount of class and creditibility in their music and also it touches your soul.
I am a great fan of their pop music.............and I have almost all their albums, FAAKHIR(MAHI VE), STRINGS(DHAANI), FUZON(SAAGAR), ALI HAIDER, NOORIE(SUNO KI MAIN HOON JAWAN), ALI ZAFAR(HUQA PANI), SAAJAD ALI and JAL(AADAT)..........and all are a delight to the ear.At present it is JAL, WHICH HAS KEPT ME HOOKED TO THEIR MUSIC, Aadat is the name of their album and it consists of ten superlative tracks, which you are bound to like if not in first hear then eventually they will grow on you and you ’ll be addicted to them as I am right now.............and as one of the songs go in the album ’’AB TO AADAT SI HAI MUJHKO IS ALBUM KO BAR BAR SUNE KI’’.The band Jal comprimises of three members, GOHER MUMTAZ(he is the composer and writer of the songs), SHAZI and FARHAN, who is the lead vocalist.
I’ll rate the songs in order of my liking them.
IK DIN AYE GA..............is my favourite track from the album, simply because it has some very inspiring and feel-good lyrics, whenever I listen to this track it makes me feel good.............also the music is very nice and catchy, and has been sung beautifully by FARHAN, with a lot of heart.

BIKHRA HOON MAIN and AADAT.....................both are same, just that the first one that is Bikhra hoon has got a more faster beat and is more uptempo, as compared to the other version, AADAT...........here the emphasis is more on he singing than the music, there is a bit of alaap also in the starting of this song.Its an outstanding song, both versions and the album is worth picking up just for these two gems.The lyrics, music and singing, everything is perfect............

LAMHEY..................again has a haunting tune, and Farhan’s singing is just awesome, and also the way it has been composed and written by GOHAR MUMTAZ is brilliant.One of my all time favourite song.

DIL HARAY..............is another of my favourite track, i love the way this song has been composed, its very beautiful, and also the use of minimum of instruments makes it very soothing.I love the way the guitar has been used in this song.Also Gohar has sung it nicely.

RANGOM MEIN..............is a kind of rock song, heavy instrumentation, but still good to listen to, though the music in this track dominates the vocals.But overall a great track.

TERI YAAD..................is another brillint composition, wish we could also make such kind of music on our own, without copying anybody.Teri yaad is also a haunting melody with beautiful lyrics, this song is a real delight.

HAR JAGAH HAI JAL.............is also one of my favourite track, though its a short track, but the tune is very catchy and the way the song TERI YAAD has been used in the background of this song is great.I also love the way this song begins, the guitar has been nicely used.Its a ROCKING SONG.

PANCHI..............is another feel good track with nice lyrics, not a kind of song which you’ll like instantly, but nevetherless a good track.

MANCHALA...........is just an average song, very loud and actually very differant from the rest of the tracks of this alBUM.

So people, just give this album a try and I am sure you’ll like it, its very good and very very ORIGINAL, JAL SURELY ROCKS and I hope to see more albums from this talented group.
