Extremely Funny Movie

I did not go to see this movie with much expectations, but was really surprised at the package. The movie is basically in the skit / slapstick category and is extremely funny.

Plot

A cross-border terrorist comes on a boat to Mumbai to create havoc, but falls in love with a Mumbai Gal. He is head over heals in love with this gal and learns tricks of wooing his mumbaiyya girlfriend from a Mumbai don. A chaste Urdu speaking militant learns tapori language and gestures, whereas his girlfriend picks up urdu through "Ek din mein Urdu sikhiye" (Learn Urdu in One Day). Through this entire slapstick, the terrorist realizes his folly of destroying life and also understands meaning of living life fully through love.

Review

The movie does not offer any lecture on patriotism or any high ideals. It is simple in approach. It comments on a lot of bollywood cliches and turns them on their head. It is more in line with movies like "Epic Movie" or "Superhero" and is a satire on a lot of movies being made these days.

There is one thing I would like to comment in particular. Certain topics like Terrorism, Mumbai Bomb Blast have been dealt with far too much seriousness these days, particularly in cinema. Even one non-serious word about these topics means blasphemy of the highest order.

This movie deals with these issues in a diametrically opoosite manner. It takes appropriate potshots at our system’s lethargy, inaptitude of our police as well as human feelings of "terrorists".Two other things are really worth mentioning. One is the acting of Vijay Maurya as Raghav Shetty. He is the life and soul of this movie. Together with Kay Kay Menon, he has delivered a brilliant comical performance, which should not be missed.

Second very funny part of this movie is the take between Urdu language and tapori language. These two languages are as different as chalk and cheese. However, the dialogues of the movie, which in part are amalgamation of these two languages are really witty and are written with immense creativity. Infact after Omkara, Oye Lucky, DevD and Gulaal, this is one movie whose dialogues are simply brilliant.

Also worth watching is the take on Bhojpuri Cinema: "Makoda Manush" - Spider Man, which will leave you laughing till the very end. My advice is to go and enjoy this movie as if you were watching a college skit. It is creativity at its best. Don’t take yourself too seriously and enjoy a very funny movie.
