The one thing that I like about Bollywood is that, may be sometimes but they have something known as situation songs. With a strong screenplay and a strong story it becomes even more necessary for any Director to lead and prepare situational music.
Talking about Aaja Nachle, yes it was the so called come back film of Madhuri Dixit, though I don’t think she had left the industry anyways. So, what did Aaja Nachle have apart from having Madhuri Dixit? The answer would be it had good music and some amazing situations that eventually worked as a good backing.
The title track is a good pepped up song picturised on Madhuri Dixit herself. It is a very Indian song, with almost all the ingredients needed to make someone get up and dance. It is good to listen to it after a hell lot of dhikchik dhikchik.
Talking about Ishq Hua, this song is one of my personal favorites. This is one of the best song sung by Shreya Ghosal and Sonu Nigam. Picturised on Kunal Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma this song gives a very positive feeling about the music of this film.
Show Me Your Jalwa is again a fun song. Dance With Me is a very dance dance song, like the ones for those who want to practice dance, also it is the only song with the western music in it.
O Re Piya is one of the finest songs sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Picturised on the previous life of Madhuri Dixit in the movie. This song is a very beautiful blend of sufi with the Indian touch to it. I had not heard of this song before one of my friends recommended and now I am crazy about this song.
Soniye Mil Ja is one the best written songs, I love this song because the way it describes teenage in those times is just amazing and something unexpected. It actually makes me dance every time I listen to it. I am actually looking forward some more songs like this one.
Is Pal is another song with a lot soul and love in it. Sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal. Picturised on Kunal Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma during the very beautifully done Laila Majnu Play in the movie.
Koi Patthar Se Na Maare is very much the initials of an old song. But here it is again picturised on Kunal Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma for the Laila Majnu Play in the movie. Again, I think it was a beautiful concept.
Aaja Nachle Reprise is another, new and a fresh form of the title track. Again very beautifully made.
All the songs in this album are worth listening to and I think Salim Sulieman have done a tremendous job.
