We enrolled our child in the Aakash Byju’s Online NEET preparation course a couple of months ago. The Byju’s sales person “Shanu Garg” made a lot of tall promises while selling the course to us and then we were left alone to deal with the incompetent folks at Byjus – Mentors, Cust Support, Technical Support, Faculty etc. etc.
Here is a list of issues that we are facing for months with Byjus but no resolution till date. I am summarizing this for the benefit of all unsuspecting parents and students who could possibly fall prey to believing these folks at Byjus. Stay away from Byjus and DO NOT waste your hard earned money!
1) Modules / Books not sent till date
It’s been over 2-3 months that on various phone calls that we have made to Byju’s, we have been told by the mentor helpline, customer support, sales etc. that the books will be dispatched “soon”. Then they started saying that the books are out of production, new books will be printed “soon”.
How soon is your “soon”? You have taken 100% of the course fee upfront and not dispatched the books yet. How is our child going to study?
2) E- books are incomplete
We were told in absence of the text books, our child could refer to the E-books. Many lessons are missing in the E-books! Example: In Biology - after chapter 3 nothing is uploaded!
You are taking the money, making false statements and cheating the customers with providing the course content!
3) Doubt Resolution not provided
No doubt resolution is provided by the mentors for DPP questions. Only basic concept is explained and that too in a hurried manner. In case the student wants to get more clarification on questions, no help is provided!
What happened to your commitment that you were portraying when selling this course to us? How is the student going to get their doubts cleared?
4) Irrelevant / out of context questions on DPP and worksheets
DPP & worksheets have many questions from topics that haven’t been taught or covered in the online classes.
How is the child going to answer those? Why can you not have relevant assignments?
5) Lack of any methodology for Tests
No known sequence is followed for taking tests. The chapters / topics that are covered recently in class are not tested. Online Tests are based on chapters done 2-3 months ago!
Can you put some method to this madness?
6) No Notification for Weekly / Monthly Tests
Despite various complaints, no prior notification is provided to us on email or call for the online test with exam dates and topics to prepare. Sometimes an email notification is sent a day before the test or the faculty might mention the same in the online class.
On calling the helpline, we get absurd answers like “there is no test” or we have a “system issue”. Looks like even the customer support and helpline folks at Byjus are clueless about what’s going on! When will you address this?
7) Disinterested / Incompetent faculty members for online classes
The teachers dont take interest in resolving doubts during the class and are neither willing to repeat the concept in case the student has any doubts. The teachers are just in a hurry to finish their slides! Moreover the teachers for various subjects just keep changing all the time!
How is a student going to learn in this unstable environment?
8) Pathetic support helpline at Byjus
We have called numerous times to report issues and asked for help from Byjus folks to resolve those issues but in vain. Every time the rep on the call says that they will look into the issue and will call back but we never receive any call backs and issues have not been addressed till date!
What kind of helpline is this?
9) Useless Tablet sold to us for the course:
We were charged for the Tablet provided by Byjus for the preloaded course content.
The tablet sent is of no use as the app doesnt function properly – it hangs, menu options don’t move, there is a lag in screen changes etc.
What kind of shoddy business are you running? I feel cheated engaging you guys!
10) Student is advised to learn using “online videos”
If the student has to learn using online videos, then why are we paying Byjus so much money for “Online Classes”? There is plenty of free online content available!
