HImesh Unleashed...

Himesh Reshammiya(HR), the man people love to hate.  He can be described with these three Orkut communities: " I Love Himesh Reshammiya", "I hate Himesh Reshammiya" and "I hate those who hate Himesh Reshammiya".

He is really a versatile man, first serial producer(Andaz, Amarprem on Zee), music-director, singer and now Actor.  There is definately a tremendous curiosity for his acting debut Aap Ka Surroor(AKS).  I like his musical work so I always was interested to khow how he fares as an actor.  So I decided to watch AKS on First day first show, though we have other releases like Apne(Dir:  Anil Sharma - Gadar, Maharaja) and Aawarapan(Dir: Mohit Suri - Kalyug, Woh Lamhe).

Himesh plays himself, a successful rockstar from India currently touring Germany.  Hansika is her event manager.  Mallika is HR’s promoter’s lawyer.

First scene: A murder of a news reporter who was carrying out a Sting operation on HR.

Second Scene:  A song

Third Scene: HR arrested.

Fourth Scene: Flashback, song

Fifth Scene: HR behind the bars

Sixth Scene: another Song.

After a good start, movie becomes like a series of songs and then even Hardcore HR fans start to loose interest.  Though music is rich so it is tolerable. But movie was promoted as a Romantic Thriller and one expects some nail biting sequences which is completely missing.

At Interval point, movie gives some hope to be little pacey, interesting as Murder mystry is about to unfold. But again, director fails to create any magic.  Movie becomes predictable, and one looses interest in what is happening on the screen.

Prashant Chadha is a debutant writer-director.  He has directed all HR videos but to direct an entire movie is a different story altogether.  The biggest minus point of the movie is story and script.  If script have been little powerful, movie would have been much better.  But he can be forgiven as a debutant director compared to Shaad Ali(Jhoom Barabar Jhoom) or Priyadarshan(Bhagambhag, Garam Masala).

Hansika is surprisingily good.  She looks cute, photogenic and can act reasonabally well.  She has potential to make it big.

Mallika is Mallika, there is no doubt about it.  In fact, she is another person in the movie, whom people(mainly ladies) love to hate. She as usual looks glamourous, dances well and acts above average.

Now about the man, everyone wants to rip off.  People said he had gone crazy, when he decided to sing.  People said the same thing when he announced AKS, but I have to confess he has guts to chase his ambitions. Before Interval he acts like an actor from 70s, over dramatic.  Though in some scenes he is natural.  And yes he has done some hard work to launch himself as an actor.

The guy is a real sport, you will understand this if you watch the movie. His sequences with his friend Shravan raise few laughs.

The biggest plus point of the movie is its Music. Though I know, many of you are not going to agree with me on this(from " I hate Himesh Reshammiya" community).  Himesh should have opted for more capable writer-director for his debut.  The movie doesn’t tell real story of Himesh, only few parts of his life.

All said and done, movie is going to enjoy tremendous opening(best among three biggies) due to the hype generated. He is very popular in small centers but end result will not be satisfying.

If you are a Himesh Reshammiya fan, you are going to watch this one.  If you are not, stay away.

HR - Music Director:  8/10

HR - Actor: 5/10

HR - Singer: 7/10

Hansika: 7/10

Mallika: 7/10

Prashant Chadha: 4/10

Movie: 4/10

Btw, I am planning to join "I love Himesh Reshammiya" community coz he shows the guts to chase his next-to-impossible ambitions.

As tagline says "when there is faith, there is no fear".

God bless all.
