Friends, last night I visited the local Planet M to look out for some new music and came across the new film album "Aap ki khatir" which has music by Himesh Reshammiya and lyrics by Sameer. Well, I wanted to write this review in the music section but this Movie’s name was what I couldn’t find there. Anyway, talking about the album, the first thing you expect( want or dont want is a different issue) from a Himesh Reshammiya album is more than half the songs sung by the Music Director himself. And "Aap ki khatir" is no exception. The title track is sung by Himesh himself. The track has nothing new to offer. The tune can be traced to Junoon song of Himesh’s another album "Rocky", thus sounds monotonous. Lyrics by sameer as usual are ones being beaten to death by Sameer himself and dozens of other lyricists. The rendition by Himesh, though seems less nasal, still unbearable. The title track comes in three versions, the other two being remixes by Akbar Sami. The third version becomes a little bearable due to an impressive shayari recitation by Akshaye Khanna. The song that follows if " I love u for what u are" sung by KK and Alisha. KK as usual gives a perfect rendition and alisha is impressive as well. However, stale tune and lyrics wash away the work done by the two singers. Not to mention, this song has another remix version in the album. Meethi meethi baatein is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and with little hummings by Kailash Kher and Jaspinder Narula. This song is undoubtedly the best composed song of the album and has a folk feel to it. It really doesn’t resemble any of other Himesh songs. However the remix version was absolutely not required and seems forced in the album. Kunal Ganjawala’s Tu kamaal is an absolute nonsense track and doesn’t fit in any album. Every part of the song seems like beaten to death earlier, its so repetitive in feel. Again the original being so bad, who cares for the remix version which is worse. Shaan and Sunidhi sing Keh do naa which sounds pretty melodious again with monotonous https://lyrics. However the remix version is also worth a hearing. Reshammiya comes back with Tu hi mera which immediately reminds you of the track Afsana from Dil diya hai( Music by Himesh again). Nothing new to this track and the same nasal crooning by Himesh makes it a waste of time. Absolutely avoidable track. The songs comes again in a remix version, to make the matters worse. Overall, the album is not worth a buy, and if you are a hardcore Himesh fan , then too the songs will give u heard before feel. Dont waste your money on this.
