Good food value for money

Well, I had so much about Aswaad but had never been there so on a sunday morning, I took bus no 354 from Matunga and reached shivaji park and I directly went to Aswaad, which is near a petrol pump towards the mahim side. I went in and sat down on one the chairs, just as I sat down, a waiter came there quickly and asked for my order, I browsed thru the menu card not knowing what to eat and then I somehow made a choice and ordered a plate of Kothimbir Wadi. After a brief waiting period of 2 minutes, the waiter got my order and it was placed in front of me.

I was apprehensive of the taste of it as I had never had it but all those doubts were put to rest when I took a bite of it, it tasted divine and the chutney provided for it was also lip smackingly delicious. I finished my order in 10 minutes flat, it was too damn good. And yes, I did feel the urge to order another plate of kothimbir wadi from there but I couldn’t as I was short of money at that time, lol.

As far as the service goes, it gets a 10 out of 10 from me. The waiter was very courteous and also helped me when I asked him what kothimbir wadi was and hw it would be and it was true what he said.

So, if you are in the dadar-shivaji park area and are looking for a place to savour traditional maharashtrian snacks, then Aswaad is the place to be.
