Good horror flick but>>>>>>>could have been better

Watching a movie on first day of its release is something which is very much fun, especially watching a horror flick on first day first show is awesome. The reason for it is that plot isn’t revealed, neither do we know and at that point of time PREDICTION comes into picture. Recently watched talaash of aamir khan, and it was too first day first show. The prediction game dint work out there, as it was out of the box thinking and hardly anyone could have guessed that kareena was a spirit. But this flick isn’t upto the mark as I expected.

One of the prime reason why I preferred to watch this movie over 3G was Bipasha Basu and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the trailer of 3G seemed great, but I had an inner gut feeling that I should skip 3G and make my way for Aatma.

Plot: This was the place where the movie failed, an below average plot made a would be interesting movie to one time watch movie. With 3G having a good plot but overall failing at many places, people turned their attention towards this movie. But certainly plot of aatma wasn’t either that interesting. This movie could have been termed as one of the best if the plot was good.

Bipasha Basu and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are married and bipasha is being tortured to the extent by her husband Nawazuddin Siddiqui, leading to divorce between them. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is portrayed as a very short tempered and very rude husband who loves his daughter more than anyone in this world. After death of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, he trys to take away his daughter too in the unreal world and bipasha fights Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

A mother fighting for her child against evil to save her child is a good one to watch for. A better plot could have turned the tables in favor of this movie. This movie was highly awaited by many just for the fact that very fine actors were put together. Even Child Doyel Dhawan put in her best efforts with her innocent and wide-eye looks and it was good acting from her side too. One more thing to be commented about the climax was that it was a bit disappointing. Leaving the plot half said, don’t want to spoil the fun for the people who may want to go this weekend.

A movie survive mainly on its plot, and aatma is having a below average plot, but its a one-time watch surely. Day by day the quality of horror flick in India is improving and a point will come when horror flick will reach its peak and we too will master in making horror flicks as Hollywood is now.

Cast performance:

As per me, this was the best feature of this movie, every individual gave their best in their own ways. The Cast of the movie was very good involving fine actors such as Bipasha Basu, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Doyel Dhawan, Shernaz Patel, Darshan Jariwala.

After Aatma, Bipasha Basu will surely get more offers on horror movies. She has mastered at it, her acting, expression, reactions are all super awesome and just perfect for what the role demands.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the next Irfan khan in the making and nawazuddin seems even more promising than irfan, and hope he doesn’t disappear from Bollywood and join Hollywood.

Bipasha Basu: Whatever roles given to Bipasha Basu for a horror script, she tends to adapt accordingly. In raaz she played the role of a wife who is tortured by a ghost. In raaz 3 she plays a negative role where in she performs her best. And now she plays the role of a tortured and frustrated mother of a child whom she loves very much and goes to the extent of fighting the evil spirit of her husband.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui: He’s arbitrarily one of the finest actor off-late Bollywood has produced. He reminds me of Irfan khan who was known for his natural acting. He leaves no stones un-turned and performs his best in being a bad husband and very dominating and suits well for the role of a evil spirit. Many scenes in the movie brings out his natural acting and brings a chill down the spine.

Doyel Dhawan: This kid has really acted very well and the innocence of the child has bought about a different dimension in the role given to the child. Many more movies in line for doyel after this for sure. Perfect blending with all these 3 main characters and the major scenes cover these 3 fine actors.

Shernaz Patel: After being appreciated by many for her acting in talaash movie, she too has given her best, but maybe her role could have been extended a bit. Anyways she did a good job for the allotted time in the movie.

Darshan Jariwala: Darshan role was limited to an extent and was satisfactory. This movie as per me would not be that big a hit on box-office, but can survive just for the fact that it has quality actors who have performed very good.

Sound Track: Sound tracks too are disappointing and could have been customized more. If you’re in for some melodious songs this movie ain’t the right choice. Sangeet Haldipur & Siddharth Haldipur are much more better than what we got here and history has proved it.

Cinematography: This was good and it was one of the main reason why this movie din’t seem a pain in the brain of the audience. Directed well by Supam Verma with many scenes which certainly brings a chill down the spine.

Many scenes where in the audience will be glued and horrofied, and at times there are some goof-ups too which spoils the mood but overall its grips the audience well.

Scenes not to be missed out:

Darshan Jariwala playing a pandits role, has this thin film appearing magically on his face and deprive of air and this scene really beats up everyone’s heart and certainly brings down chill in the spine.

Bipasha’s friend asks her to keep sharp objects like knives, cutters and saws under her pillow that might help keep the nightmares away, and the very next moment Bipasha sees those knives, cutters and saws hovering in the air. Imagining the scene itself is very horrifying and with good effects it seems even more brutal.

Final Verdict: My views are that this movie has certainly scenes which one cant miss on, and I would rate it as 3/5 stars and its surely a one-time watch and people who love Bipasha and Nawazuddin acting can enjoy this flick to the extent even though it lacks plot.
