The much awaited movie of Kollywod 2010, was out on Pongal with much fanfare & mystique hype surrounding it.
"Ayarathil Oruvan"(One in a thousand) stands true to its name, this is a kind of movie which has all the capability to take the Indian cinema to the next level .If this could strike the right chord among the viewers, we are all in for a new chapter in the Indian Film Indusry where Films no longer will be based on stereotypical plots & themes.
Kudos to Selvaraghavan( The Director) & the Producer(R. Ravendran) for having the brute courage to exlpore the new frontiers in Filmmaking & thus comming up with a thoroughly refreshing movie.
The movie opens with, an archeologist(Prathap) on a quest of hidden past behind the Lost Cholan dynasty vanishes in unknown circumstance near Vietnam. A team comprising of Reema, Andrea & Karthi will be roped in to unravel the mystery. And then we are all embarked on a journey to an unexplored world /Civilisation which is inhabited by native tribes & where even the descendants of the lost cholan empire are still existing. Suddently they all find connection between them & the cholan civilisation, the happening thereafter keeps you on the edge of your seat.
The First half of the move is quite frenetic in pace & is visually stunning, while the seond half is bit slow in comparison & belongs to a different period where we are all taken back to the 1000 years old civilisation .
This movie is strictly for adults as it depicts many gruesome, violent scenes & therby apty comes up with an’ A’certificate.
The Climax of the movie extremely heart wrenching . One needs to exercise his intellect to grasp the actual message which the director is slyly trying to convey. Do watch the movie(not with family though) with right frame of mind & beware on some occassions you might be short on breadth , as it will be taken away.
