*Doctors cure, engineers build, I kill
Pros** - Everything! Performances (Nana Patekar, Jeeva, Revathi and every other actor in the movie), the story
Cons - Nothing I can think of
This is a work of class, no doubt. The movie does a wonderful balance of reality and entertainment to keep us hooked throughout the proceedings. I think Nana Patekar as the encounter cop and Jeeva as the villainous Commissioner gave the best performances in the movie. Everyone else too has been upto the mark in their respective roles. The whole cast was near-flawless. Normally you would think that realistic cop stories are violent and boring. But director Shimit Amin manages to make it entertaining too. The subtle humour here & there (especially during Nanas phone chats with the underworld don or his daily tiffs with wife Revathy) works like charm and keeps the movie refreshing.
Shimit Amin is easily one of the best bollywood directors. This movie and now Chakde India. I regard the latter as a classic already. Hope to see more of his movies in the coming years. You rock man, you truly rock.....
