I totally mean my title, when I first read the book, I was really captivated by the story so much that I cudnt put it down even to have my food (I generally put other novels that I read) the story was so mesmersing and so COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. If u r a robin cook fan (like me) and read all his books (I have read nearly all of them) u wud find one thing common in all his stories, theres a good doc, a bad doc (or a team of bad docs but the good one is always alone) and there is a very secritive crime going on in the hospital that these people are working in, the good one discovers the crime in the end and the BANG, the bad docs are out of the picture.
But I have to hand it to Mr. Cook for this one, it is totally different from his other books, it deals with fantasy, a world under the sea (in the Moho Discontinuity) to be specific, known as Interterra, a civilization that is very very very very advanced than our primitive earth (the guys there call themselves Ist genration, and as u can c they call us primitive)Anyways the story starts out inoccently enough with a sea drilling company known as Benthic Marine, in a turn of events, 4 characters from he book (they are ina submarine) are sucked into the Mohovivic Dicontinuity and thus land up in Interterra where they find that there is no violence (yeah, none!) and that people never die (they keep ’’passing-on’’ to new bodies) and that everything is free, there is nothing like the barter system or plain old cash, or anything, and these guys find out that there are people there who were rescued from Titanic, well now 3 of these guys are apparently very uncomfortable in this environment and they think that they have been captured and they would like to go back to earth, so they hatch a plan and they have already killed 3 of these Interterrans (u can guess that it is a MAJOR crime, specially since there is NO crime in Interterra)
according to the plan, they take two of the Interterrans along with them and escape in their submarine, but something goes wrong on the way.......read the book to find that out.
