About the Book:
It is a fiction that includes a concept of a third world under the sea called ‘Interterra’. The ‘people’ there claim to be our predecessors who appeared even before the time of dinosaurs had landed in the earth. They abduct some researchers who go under the sea for some usual drilling exploration, fearing that they are here to reveal the identity of the ‘Interterrans’. The attempt of the abductees to flee creates great suspense, drama and many a crime in the ‘Interterra’.
What it covers: The story consists of a group of scientists /explorers who venture inside the ocean for exploration and drilling operation as part of their job for a multi million worth project and get abducted by a different ‘society’ of people or species who claim to be born millions of years before mankind appeared on earth. They explain that they were the 1st generation of creation and after that the world ended and got recreated in which current generation was created and thus call us the 2nd generation humans and as ‘primitives’. The abductees are taken aback by the facilities they have, for e.g.; their success over the concept of death. The brains and souls are transferred to new bodies, resulting in no usual reproduction. Their concept of never ending food (a common stuff which tastes according to your liking), no violence, endless entertainment and no need of working or earning and fusion of many animals to get an ideal pet, air taxis, elder’s council consisting or 5 year olds (since they only change bodies but brains and souls are old). Still they try to escape but then realize it too late that the 1st generation creatures are far too advanced for them and don’t want their existence to be revealed. Written in a very lively and fascinating manner, the author presents the consequences and issues that they face.
Roundup:
Abduction is a mixture of science, thrill, suspense, fun and in all a fresh experience from Robin Cook’s collection. His expression of fantasy, imagination, science, entertainment and suspense blend skilfully to form a good read. This gives a fresh flavour than his usual medical thrillers. His venture in a different kind of plot is a welcome thought..
